Canvas 101 Workshop Description
Participants who are new to Canvas will get a quick start on creating the basic components of a Canvas course.

This includes: the setup of your profile and notification preferences; customization of course navigation; use of the rich text editor to add images, links, and embedded media; upload and manage files; add modules and content pages; add individual and group assignments; update the course calendar; edit the online syllabus; and publishing a course to grant student access.

These workshops will take place on the second floor of Salazar in the Faculty Center's new location. The room is Salazar 2009D (the "Mango Room").

Canvas 101 Workshop Dates:
Canvas Intermediate Workshop Description
In the Canvas Intermediate Workshop, participants will create a variety of assessments and explore options for providing students feedback and managing the course gradebook. The workshop covers: enhanced assignment grading with rubrics; defining assignment group rules and weighting; creating Turnitin assignments to generate originality reports for written assignments submitted by students and providing annotated feedback online; creating a basic quiz or survey; assigning grades with the Speedgrader and providing text or media-rich feedback; and managing gradebook options.
