The stories created within the contest will be published at Eurasian Data Stories (https://stories.forset.ge/en/), the first cross-regional website, recently launched by ForSet, uniting data content from all over Eurasia region.
Who can apply? Data storytellers from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, China, Georgia, Hungary, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Mongolia, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan.
What should the stories be like?- Stories should be well-balanced, nicely structured, based on reliable data, and about an issue of public importance. - You are free to choose any format you like for your story, be it an article, video, Infographic, interactive or mixed media. - Topics can vary from academics, economics and politics to security and society. - Stories should be in English and should be created for this content specifically. The English version of the story should not be published anywhere else other than Eurasian Data Stories.
What are the story criteria?- Relevance of the topic (Is it acute and important? Is the angle chosen originally?)- Data Accuracy (Is your data collected and analyzed smartly? Are your data sources diverse and accurate?)- Use of format (Is the format suggested relevant to your story? Is the story told in an innovative way?)- Reach/Impact (how important is the story's public impact or benefit - the degree to which it serves the interests of democratic society?)
