Is Pain Anxiety Influenced by Psychosocial Variables?

Hello and welcome!

I’m working on a project as part of my involvement with Seattle University’s Honors Psychology program that investigates factors that influence the experience of living with chronic pain. I’m looking for participants with chronic pain, defined as pain lasting longer than 3 months; this pain may be intermittent but also regular. I’d appreciate your participation! This research can be used to develop better pain interventions and also helps us understand how certain psychosocial factors can assist in lowering pain anxiety.

The study is a survey of 65 questions. It contains questions about a) demographics, b) chronic pain intensity and duration, c) your religious affiliation and habits, d) acceptance measurements of your pain, and e) your anxiety levels concerning pain. I'm interested in people with AND without religion, as both sides of the coin can be important when investigating chronic pain. It should take about 10-15 minutes to complete. All data submitted will be confidential and stored in Google's servers until the project’s completion (expected: June 2014).

You can submit your e-mail at the end of the survey through another link to be entered to win one of two $25 Amazon gift cards (you will have approximately a 1/40 chance of winning) and to receive the final study results. Your e-mail will be kept separate from your data and will only be used to contact you if you win or wish to receive the results of the study.
