Google My Business Branding
Many small business owners already understand that branding is essential to their business, but a surprisingly high number of them don't really know why. For this conversation, for Google and why its important. Google’s learning brain algo or its rank Brain Algo is quite complex. Because of those, you have to teach Google about your company, your business, your product, your service, YOUR BRAND. You have to make Google choke on your branding to get Google to recognize it as a legitimate entity.
One way you can brand your company is with what we call Citations. Citations are just business listings on a business Directory. Some of these directories have a very high ranking sites, and to have a listing on them gives that business website a good back-link that Google see’s as you establishing your entity. Google see’s your Brand on other sites, making your presence online.
A great brand building strategy is to get involved with local partnerships (this is tremendously important for local-oriented businesses, but can be applied for other businesses as well). Partner with other local businesses to hold joint intro seminars or festivals. Sponsor local sports
teams and donate to charity events. Getting your brand plastered around festivals and events will do big things for your brand.
One of the best ways and the fastest way to get Google to recognize your brand is with a Branded Social Media Network. Google has published every year what the number one metric to rank anything on Google is. The number one metric to rank anything on Google is “Social Engagement”. Google says Social engagement is described as views, shares, likes, click thru, posting on your blog or website, all of these are social engagement.
For all of you that say: “I’ve got a social media network,” or “I have a Face Book page,” or “I have a Twitter account,” or “I’m on Pinterest,” Unfortunately, that’s not going to cut it with Google. That is not a branded network.
My definition of a social media network is, having between 15 to 25 social accounts. And when it comes to building a Branded Social Media Network, all of them need to be branded with your company info, logo, description, and your photos (optimized) to show Google that this is XYZ company which in their business model equals a “Brand.”
You can accomplish that by inter-linking the social properties together and showing Google that this is all one entity, thus creating a Branded Network, and at the same time establishing your Brand.
It doesn’t stop there, you have to actively post to your branded network to show Google and teach Google and make Google choke on your brand!
Compound the branded network with when you post from your GMB or share to your network, Google see’s not only you are serious, but you are engaged socially. Social Engagement remember? This by far the fastest way to establish your brand, and it becomes very powerful over time to rank almost anything when use properly.
If you want to do this yourself you can. Everything is free to do, you just have to take the time to go on all of these properties and create the accounts, optimize them with the correct business info, inter link them together, and then publish or post to them on a regular and constant basis.
We feel so strongly about a Branded Social media network that it is possibly the most import presence you should have online. So strongly that we strongly recommend every business should have a Branded Network over having a website! Actually having a website is becoming a thing of the past, and at most an online business card.
Now you are thinking to create and maintain a branded network is a lot of work, and you are right. But the rewards that you get from having one out way the down side.
