Please join us in the statewide coalition to ban fracking in California, Califorinans Against Fracking.
Fracking poses a direct and immediate threat to the drinking water, air, food, health, wildlife, climate and economy of California. While our state prides itself on being a leader in the fight against climate change, oil companies gear up to frack the estimated 15 billion barrels of oil in the Monterey Shale. The area is home to some of the state’s most productive farmland, critical water sources, important wildlife habitat and communities from the Salinas Valley to the Los Angeles Basin. A number of groups have come together to call for a ban in California on this dirty and dangerous practice. Will you join us?
This is a coalition for any organization, civic group, business, faith institution, health institution, professional association, labor union, political club, environmental justice, environmental or outdoor organization, social justice group, farm, restaurant, brewery or other food producer that supports a ban on fracking in California. Join us and help protect our state from fracking.
Among the nearly 200 organizations already signed on are: 350.org, California Nurses Association, Center for Biological Diversity, Center on Race, Poverty and the Environment, CREDO, Democracy for America, Environment California, Family Farm Defenders, Food and Water Watch, Laytonville Grange, League of Latin American Citizens (LULAC)-District 17, Organic Consumers Association, Progressive Democrats of America and many others.
