Shelter Medicine Symposium - Sunday February 9th, 2020
The date for the 12th Annual Shelter Medicine Symposium is Sunday, February 9th, 2020. It will be located at the University of Georgia's Veterinary Teaching Hospital at 2200 College Station Rd Athens, GA, in the Education Center's Alumni Hall. Free breakfast and lunch will be provided for all attendees who pre-register by Friday, January 31st, 2020.

6 hours of CE credit will be offered for veterinarians and veterinary technicians for $75 dollars. A link to pay for CE credit will be sent out after the event concludes.  

Schedule of Events:
8am-9am: Registration and Breakfast
9am-9:50am: Dr. Sherry Sanderson DVM, PhD, DACVIM, DACVN, Associate Professor at UGA CVM - “Update on Diet Associated Dilated Cardiomyopathy in Dogs”
10am-10:50am: Dr. Joseph Bartges DVM, PhD, DACVIM, DACVN, Professor at UGA CVM - “Leptospirosis”
11am-11:50am: Dr. Jo Smith MA, VetMB, PhD, DACVIM, Associate Professor at UGA CVM  - “Compassion Fatigue - Caring until it hurts”
12pm-1pm: Lunch break
1pm-1:50pm: Dr. Lonnie King DVM, MS, MPA, ACVPM, dean emeritus, College of Veterinary Medicine, The Ohio State University - “10 Trends in Animal Health That Will Impact Your Work and Careers”
2pm-2:50pm: Dr. Andy Moorhead DVM, MS, PhD, Assistant Professor at UGA CVM - “Heartworm: We don’t know what we don’t know… A discussion and update on Heartworm testing and treatment”
3pm-3:50pm: Dr. Kasey Mabry DVM - “FeLV/FIV”
4pm: Symposium Concludes
