Do you want to help build DSA into a strong organization? An organization where our members know, trust, and serve alongside each other? Then you should be a Branch Organizer!
In this exciting role, you’re on the front lines of DSA: making Branch meetings happen, getting people involved in our exciting campaigns, and building relationships that outlive individual projects.
A Branch Organizer makes two primary commitments.
Connecting with members: Reaching out to members in your branch to check in, build relationships, and help them get involved. You'll be responsible for keeping in touch with other members that want to be contacted.
Branch Meetings: You will be helping your Branch Coordinator to organize regular Branch Meetings. There are many ways to help, whether it's helping book a venue, plan logistics, or just help people sign in on the day of the meeting. Regular meetings are important because they help us have a sense of community, a place to spend time with other members even if they’re involved in other committees or campaigns.
Organizer Monthly Responsibilities:
- Attend and help plan or execute Branch Meeting (Helping with things like sign ins, child care, AV, refreshments)
- Attend Branch Organizing Committee Meeting
- Participate in Campaign event (canvass, tabling, etc) or educational event.
- Participate in 1-2 phone banks to reach Branch members
This represents about 1 obligation per week.

It's important to note that the meetings and relationship-building does not happen just for the sake of socializing! We are not just a social club for leftists, we are building a strong, fighting, socialist organization. This relational work happens in the context of our external campaigns and political education.
