Utah Citizen Request for Town Hall Meeting with Senator Orrin Hatch
Dear Senator Orrin Hatch,

We, the undersigned constituents, community members, and local organizations of Utah are writing to request your presence at a town hall meeting during the month of February. With acknowledgment of your recent 40-year anniversary as a member of the Senate of the United States of America, and understanding your obligations in our nation's capital, we nevertheless respectfully request an audience in Utah in a setting open to the public. Our country is facing a time of immense political tension, and that concern has not escaped the people of Utah. Now, more than ever, we need the acknowledgment and attention of our elected representatives.

It is our hope that this bipartisan request, made without agenda or ulterior motivation, and endorsed by citizens and groups across the political spectrum, will demonstrate our sincere and genuine desire for your presence here in Utah. Concern does not know a political party, and unease is not a partisan experience. We are asking for your recognition of our voices as your constituents, as your community, and as your fellow citizens.

Senator Hatch, in your oath you have sworn that you will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office that you hold. These duties include supporting and defending the Constitution of the United States of America. There can be no action more central to the protection of the Constitution, a document that begins with the words "We the People," than making yourself available to those who entrusted you with this role.

We are requesting a response by February 15, 2017. Thank you for your time and consideration.
