Seeking creative teens with an open mind.
Dia Teens is a collective made up of fifteen young people based at Dia:Beacon who collaborate with each other to create original projects, engage with their local community, and travel to New York City arts spaces. Working closely with a practicing artist, teens make, experiment, question, and investigate contemporary art and explore questions related to art and the world.
This year-round program is FREE for all participants. Lunches / snacks, materials, and in-program transportation are provided for all sessions. No previous art classes or special skills required.
Academic Year | October 2017 – June 2018School year sessions take place on select Saturdays every month, 11am – 3pm. Field trips will have extended hours.
Summer Intensive | mid-July – mid-August 2018Summer sessions meet Monday – Thursday from 11am – 3pm. Field trips will have extended hours.
This program is FREE for teens. Financial assistance for public transportation to and from Dia:Beacon is provided upon request.
Eligibility Requirements:> Applicants must be currently enrolled in high school, and have completed at least one full year of high school.> New applicants must commit to participating for one full year (summer and school year).> Participants must attend every session unless prior arrangements are made. Please review the schedule to make sure that you are available for all of the sessions.> Preference given to Hudson Valley residents.
Please note: Consent of parent or guardian is required for all program participants under 18 years of age.
