RSN can be held in 1, 2, or 3 sessions, and how it is offered may depend upon timing and travel required. A description of each workshop (using the 3 session series) is below.
Workshop 1 (~2 hours)
Workshop 1 focuses on dealing with change, including common things that happen for people during changes. Attendees will also be taught evidence-based resilience skills that they can use in and out of sport.
Workshop 2 (~2 hours)
Workshop 2 focuses on effective sleep strategies and learning more about your athlete identity and how that will change throughout your sport career, including when you are done with competitive sport.
Workshop 3 (~2 hours)
Workshop 3 focuses on understanding your sport career and helping you plan for the next stage of your life (with or without competitive sport).
You can learn more about the RSN project on our website, which includes programs and resources for other interest holders in sport (coaches, sports medicine, etc.): www.realizeyournext.com.
Please note that this workshop is NOT mental health treatment. If you are looking for mental health treatment, you are encouraged to contact Assessment and Therapy Associates of Grand Forks, who has several mental health professionals who are knowledgeable about working with athletes.
This effort is associated with North Dakota’s State Suicide Prevention Program, funded by the ND Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Behavioral Health Division (BHD).
