The growing environmental problems are unsustainable depletion of natural resources and the principle of "take-use-throw." A large amount of spent resources ends up as waste on landfills that pollute the environment with the toxic ingredients contained in the products. It is of great importance to respect the waste management hierarchy and to prevent its formation.

Success in the future is based on circular economy that uses the "take-reuse-recycle-reuse" principle. Circular economy is a new EU hope for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth. The basic set-up of system is the aspiration to efficiently use, recycle and reuse resources to limit the negative environmental impacts of the European economy and reduce costs in economic activities with a view to economic growth.

TERA Tehnopolis with its partners in the MOVECO project responds to these challenges and aims to improve the framework conditions and policy instruments for eco-innovation, the application of the circular economy, the promotion of smart and sustainable development and the reduction of differences in the Danubian regions. The project plans to develop an international strategy for transition to the principle of circular economy and to use ways to foster its application in the various innovation regions of this area. With new services and tools for eco-design and eco-innovation, MOVECO supports a new business model and research collaboration with new value chains.

As part of the MOVECO project activities, the Stakeholder Forum will be held at the Waldinger Conference Hall in Osijek from 13:00 to 17:00 on December 6, 2017. Themes of the workshop during the Stakeholder Forum are:

1. What are the opportunities and challenges in the transition to the Circular Economy? Who should offer what support to whom?
2. EPR and its support for innovation and new business models in the Circular Economy.
