This award is granted to a GAGC chapter that has aided in advocacy and programming for gifted children in their area by providing guidance, financial support, time, and other resources in order to support gifted children and those who work with them, including their parents, teachers, and schools.
Criteria:
The chapter must:
1)
Be affiliated with GAGC and be in good standing
2)
Not have won this award within the past five years
Procedure:
The nomination packet must include:
1)
Completed nomination form
2)
Documentation to support evaluation of the following areas:
a.
Contributions the chapter has made to the local gifted program (time, money, resources, mentors, etc.)
b.
Contributions to the total educational program of schools within the chapter region (time, money, resources, mentors, etc.)
c.
Special projects
d.
Methods for communicating to teachers, parents, and others in the local system
e.
How well chapter activities have met chapter goals
f.
Facilitation of involvement of the membership at large in activities/projects of the chapter
g.
Programs planned and implemented during the current and past school year
h.
Some sense of the percentage of educators and parents who are current members
Recognition:
The chapter will be recognized at the annual convention. A representative of the chapter will receive complimentary registration to this year’s GAGC convention, a plaque, and a certificate of recognition from the GAGC President.
Nominations shall be completed online and submitted by December 15, 2023. Additional supporting documentation should be submitted via email to
