Psychological Research Study on HIV/AIDS
We are high school students conducting a study investigating the relationships between personality traits on health and maintenance behaviors in people with HIV/AIDS. This is a college in high school research project that is researched in attempt to improve adherence behaviors in individuals and investigate a field where there isn’t much information on. This study is supervised by Dr. Frye, a professor in Social Psychology at Long Island University NY. We have received IRB approval at both our high school and LIU.

If you agree to participate in the study, you will be asked to complete a questionnaire that is completely anonymous, where individual responses will not be assessed, but rather the pattern of responses across all participants. Questions will pertain to various health behaviors, and several personality trait questions.

Your participation in the study is completely voluntary and you have the right to refuse participation, or leave the study during any time. You can skip questions you do not feel comfortable answering.

For further inquiries or if you wish to know the study’s findings, please contact Dr. Nancy Frye at Nancy.Frye@liu.edu, 516-299-4290, Anna at 18anmik1@oceansideschools.org, or Sara at 18sadej@oceansideschools.org.

If you have questions about your rights as a subject, please contact the Long Island University Institutional Review Board Administrator, Patricia Harvey at 516-299-3591.
