City of Cape May Beach Wheelchair Sign Out Form

These chairs are located in boxes along the beachfront.  Please see a beach tagger (at the front of any beach entrance) for assistance in borrowing a chair. The beach wheel chair is available for use between; 10:00 AM and 4:30 PM. There is no charge for use of the beach wheelchair.  Reservations are not accepted, and there is no guarantee of availability due to the limited number of chairs.  Borrowers must sign out chairs.  Borrowers assume responsibility for chairs while under their use. 

  • Requirements: A driver's license or identification number.   Surf chairs must be returned to the same location from which they were signed out.

  • Restrictions: Use of Surf chairs is restricted to the beach.   Use of beach wheel chairs is restricted to those individuals weighing less than 300 lbs. 

  • Attendant: An attendant is required when the chair is in use and not undertake tasks which exceed his/her ability. 

  • Water Access: Surf chairs are restricted from entering the water.
