New families are eager to be part of the Quest community...and they have questions!  You don't need to know all the answers - just point them in the right direction as needed.  

Here's what you need to know:

* Buddy Families are matched with families in the same grade, though occasionally we do have to assign families in close grades due to availability of buddies.

* Buddy Families make the first point of contact - usually phone, but email is fine, too! - and introduced themselves.  Typically the first conversation is about getting to know each other and answering any initial questions the family may have.

* Buddy Families offer to make arrangements for playdates, coffee meet-ups, etc...prior to the start of the school year.  With the current social distancing protocols in place, these may be virtual or held as comfortable at outside venues in line with current restrictions.

* Beyond this, the time commitment is up to you.  Some buddy family pairs make plans to meet for coffee after drop off on the first day, or occasional check-ins throughout the first trimester.  Some buddy families are conscientious to make sure the new family is aware of traditions and activities as they happen and sometimes procedures (i.e. what is pumpkin fest?  how are parent/teacher conferences done?  how do I check the lost and found).
