Proposal overview:
• Please write a brief description of the beneficiary organization (who they are, where they work, what they do, their mission, their projects, etc.): A ministry to the children, youth, young adults and parents of the children in several DC public housing projects. Including school year homework clubs, tutoring and mentoring; Job training and help seeking jobs; During the summer, a 5 week camp program that serves 130 children from 3 different housing projects in DC with fun, enrichment, relationship and the gospel.

The involvement varies among the several applicants. I have been involved with LLUM since 2004, first with their Saturday drop in program, then tutoring, and more recently as a financial donor. Among our applicants, we have tutors, mentors, a participant in the racial reconciliation group, and donors. Peter Chun wins the longest-involvement award, having been involved pretty much since he was 17 years old (and I'm not telling how old he is now).

• Please describe their needs (why you are applying for this grant on their behalf, is this for an overall financial help to build capacity or is this meant to assist with a specific project): This is to enhance and support their 5 week summer camps this summer, by covering the costs of buses and field trip expenses for 130 children to go to Rohr's Zoofari, the Air and Space Museum and Montpelier farms. It involves underwriting buses to transport the students and staff to the offsite locations.
