Montana 2020 Waivers: Public Comment Survey
The Office of Public Instruction (OPI) is reaching out to all interested stakeholders to solicit public comment on the implications of waivers granted due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. The federal government has granted OPI’s requested waiver of requirements related to state and federal testing, accountability, reporting, and funding flexibility. These 2020 waivers provide school districts with some relief and the ability to focus locally on the basic educational services and needs of the students. Because this has implications under the state Administrative Rules for Montana (ARM) and the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), OPI is seeking public comment on these approved waivers. Public comment on the implications of the waiver is vital to our continued success in making our students Montana Ready.
The information below helps us ensure we receive comments from a broad cross-section of stakeholders.
