GPRS Adoption Application
Thank you for your interest in giving our guinea pigs a new home! We at Guinea Pig Rescue (Singapore)
(GPRS) aim to find the
best fit for all the guinea pigs under our care. To facilitate the
adoption process, please take note of the following:
1. Adopter must be 21 years old or above regardless of prior experience;
2.
All members of the household must approve of the adoption. If you are
renting an apartment, please ensure that your landlord/landlady is
agreeable to the housing of pets;
3.
GPRS may arrange a playdate session with potential adopter(s), their
family members, and their existing guinea pig(s) (if any) to assess compatibility;
4.
A homestay trial of at least 2 weeks is required to ensure that the
potential adopter, all family members in the household, and guinea
pig(s) are a good fit (no allergies, fighting between guinea pigs, etc.);
5. GPRS may conduct house visits to ensure proper living conditions and care of guinea pigs;
6. Appropriate safety measures will be required if other animals are part of the household;
7.
The adopter is required to sign the GPRS Adoption Contract upon
completion of the homestay trial and confirmation of adoption;
8.
A contribution of $150 per guinea pig would be required upon the formal
adoption of the guinea pig(s). This amount is used by the rescue to
offset any bills or
supplies needed to rescue and rehabilitate guinea pigs;
9. GPRS reserves the right to approve or reject an adoption at any point before the adoption papers are finalised; and
10.
There is no need to submit a new application if you have not been
contacted or there is(are) new guinea pig(s) put up for adoption, unless
your initial application has been rejected and you have made
adjustment(s) as advised.
