Best Buddies YLC 2015 Application
Thank you for your interest in being a part of the Best Buddies Young Leaders Council (YLC)!

The YLC provides the student perspective for Best Buddies International initiatives. Members of the council serve on committees focused on different aspects of Best Buddies involvement to maintain a steady connection between students and Best Buddies International. The council garners and synthesizes student feedback to present and develop student-driven ideas.

The YLC provides its members with the opportunity to incorporate new ideas, build on existing inclusion programs, and share global initiatives with Best Buddies International participants and staff throughout the world.

Members of the Young Leaders Council are expected to commit to monthly conference calls, conference travel, and consistent communication with their committees and fellow members. Please describe your time management skills, including how you plan to juggle additional responsibilities, to meet council expectations; be specific in your management of leadership positions and employment and be sure to list all other responsibilities you will have next year (e.g. other activities, organizations, and/or employment). *

Members of the YLC are empowered to improve upon the programs, ideals, and responsibilities of their peers by challenging chapter leaders to develop progressive program ideas and host inclusive activities and trainings. As a YLC member,  you will be tasked with elevating your peers’ standards in leadership; how will you do this? Please list examples, including but not limited to, how you will encourage peer leaders to host more progressive events, incorporate the disability rights movement into everyday chapter events, and improve upon trainings and activities. What do you look for when working to progress the mission and the movement in your community? *
 By submitting this application, you commit to attending the 26th Annual Leadership Conference in Bloomington, Indiana from July 17-20 and will be responsible for travel costs. Please explain any outstanding situations. *
