This is the application for the NLFB Meltdown Competition March 10, 2019 at The Townehouse Tavern as part of the NEW Bloom festival. Registrations will be accepted up to and including Friday, March 1, 2019, however assignment of slots will begin in late February.
Solo Auditions (1 accompanist max.): March 10, 1pm-3pm*5 slots available Band/Ensemble Auditions: March 10, 3:30pm-6pm*4 slots available Musicians will be scheduled in 15 min slots. Artists are encouraged to play original music but it is not required.
A registration fee of $25 is required per act, upon acceptance. NLFB will contact you with a link to make this payment online, or it can be made at the NLFB Office. Registration includes an individual membership to NLFB. All genres of music are accepted, as well as storytelling, spoken word and other types of performance. Please keep in mind the character of NLFB's past lineups (visit www.nlfb.ca). We are very open-minded musically, however we don't book everything. Performance does not necessarily need to be 'family friendly' (however family acts are encouraged to compete): it can deal with mature subject matter but should not be overtly offensive. Keep in mind the festive, positive event atmosphere. Performances will be judged by a panel of expert judges from the community.
*If you have any questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call the office at 705-674-5512.
NOTE: To apply for the summer festival directly (with no audition through Meltdown) you must have an official album or release and are asked to send a digital press kit to: email@example.com.
