Good attendance is critical for student success in the Hamburg Area School District.

When a student must miss school, a written excuse signed by a parent/guardian needs to be presented to the front office within three days after the student returns from an absence. A written excuse is defined as a handwritten note, electronic note submission or absence excuse card submitted at the school. The reason for an absence determines if absence is excused or unexcused. All absences without a valid excuse are coded as unexcused.
