Welcome to the official application for the Catrinas on the street competition, a community gathering to showcase live Catrinas on the street in Portland.
This event is about the preservation of hispanic heritage and its traditions around la Catrina. Participating in it, must be done in a culturally respectful way. Participants have the expectation of dressing a Catrina/Catrín attire and honor the tradition with intention.

You must be 16 years old or above to participate.
We have limited spaces available, and there’s a chance not all applicants can participate.
You will be judged on creativity, originality, recycled materials used, and presentation.
There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place and a token of appreciation for all participants
Make-up: In preparation for the competition, there will be a free "Do your own make-up" workshop prior to the event. The workshop is Sunday, October 12th from 2:30p to 5:30p at Lloyd Center (exact location will be sent on a follow up email). This workshop is for those who don’t know how to do a Catrina make-up and will be participating as contestants. It is important to bring your own supplies (face paint, small brush, glitter, etc) which you can find them at Dollar tree or a store of your preference.
