I understand that I am entering into a new stage in my educational journey by being admitted into the Academy.  I will be the beneficiary of enrichment classes, extended school years (Summer School), college tours, and many other opportunities that will prepare me for the successful completion of high school and matriculation to the post-secondary path of my choice.  These opportunities are a result of a partnership between Access Academies and Saint Louis University (AA/SLU).

Additionally, if I successfully graduate from the Academy while meeting all the below expectations, I will receive graduate support services while in high school.  These services will include regular check-ins, academic support, college counseling, and financial assistance.  

I understand that in order to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of the Graduate Support Program, researchers at Saint Louis University will be utilizing the data of all students, including school reports, test scores, and surveys.  I understand that no personally identifiable data will be used in any research projects.  I understand participating in the Graduate Support Program is voluntary.

I understand that in order to receive these services and be retained each year in the Academy I must live up to all of the commitments written herein:

Academic Expectations of the Student
I will keep my grades at or above a 2.5 GPA each semester;
I will maintain high attendance (no more than 10 absences and 15 tardies total per year);
I will attend the extended day enrichment programming.  I understand that attendance is mandatory and that missing any classes during enrichment will count as regular school day absences;
I will attend Summer School after my 5th, 6th, and 7th grade years.  I understand that this is mandatory and any absence during Summer School will count as a regular school day absence;
I will attend the Access/SLU Bridge program after my 8th grade year, in addition to any summer programming sponsored by my high school.

Character Expectations of the Student
I will adhere to all building rules, follow directions from adults, be respectful at all times, and act as a role model to the elementary school students;
I understand that misconduct will result in demerits and that five demerits will result in a detention and I will faithfully serve any detentions I receive;
I understand that three detentions in any one quarter will result in an in-school suspension;
I understand that my attitude, participation in, and successful completion of Academy programming and expectations will influence the amount of financial assistance I will receive during high school.

Expectations of the Parents/Guardians/Family
As a parent/guardian I will attend parent meetings when asked.  If I cannot attend a meeting I will reach out to reschedule.  I understand these meetings are mandatory and I am obligated to attend;
The family will not fall behind on tuition payments and will not carry a balance into the next year;
I understand that the extended school day enrichment programming and Summer School are mandatory;
I understand that my child’s attitude, participation in, and successful completion of Academy programming and expectations will influence the amount of financial assistance he/she will receive during high school;
I understand that in order to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of the Graduate Support Program, researchers at Saint Louis University will be utilizing the data of all students, including school reports, test scores, and surveys.  I understand that no personally identifiable data will be used in any research projects. I understand participating in the Graduate Support Program is voluntary and I give my permission for my student to participate and for AA/SLU to collect and evaluate my child’s data while he/she is in high school.
