Chi Alpha is a Christian homeschool group made up of families that share a statement of faith, a love for the Lord, and a desire to provide their children with a loving home education.  Therefore, in order to serve at any Chi Alpha event we request that you read and agree that the Chi Alpha Statement of Faith aligns with your beliefs.  We know that all family members  may not align with this statement of faith, so while they are welcome at Chi Alpha events, we ask that those individuals not lead or volunteer at events.  Please read our entire Statement of Faith:  Chi Alpha (XA) is a likeminded Christian, heterosexual family-centered organization dedicated to honoring God through home education. We believe in “closed handed beliefs” like the beliefs stated below (numbers 1-6). Closed handed beliefs are those that we consider to be necessary components of authentic Christian community. We also believe in “open handed beliefs” and the freedom in Christ. Open handed beliefs are those that we do not require uniformity on. We are not saying that these things are not significant. Varying opinions or interpretations on these open handed beliefs will not divide us as the body.                              We believe:                                                                                  1. There is one God, the source, support, and end of all things; eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is perfect in love and righteous in all His ways.                                                                                 2. God freely created the world by His Word and for His Glory. He made man and woman in His own image, as the crown of creation, that they might have fellowship with Him. Tempted by Satan, they rebelled against God and became separated from Him. Apart from grace, humankind is incapable of returning to God.                    3. The only Mediator between God and humankind is Christ Jesus our Lord, the incarnate Word and God's eternal Son. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, and fully shared and fulfilled our humanity in a life of perfect obedience to the Father. By His sacrificial death in our place, He removed our guilt and reconciled us to God. Having redeemed us from sin, He rose bodily from the dead, victorious over death, and ascended into heaven where He now sits at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty. (In Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form, and in Him have been made complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority. Colossians 2:9-10).                                                                   4. The Bible is the only infallible, authoritative Word of God, and all scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. (II Timothy 3:16-17). The Bible is totally sufficient and must not be added to (Deuteronomy 12:32).                                                               5. Salvation of lost and sinful men through regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential. We believe that salvation is received by personal faith in the finished work of Christ on the cross and by the righteousness of Christ imputed to us by the grace of God alone and received through faith alone, not by any works of righteousness. As the redeemed of God, believers are eternally secure in their relationship with God as joint heirs with Christ and accept the responsibilities and privileges inherent in that relationship (John 10:17-29).                6. God's redemptive work will be completed by the return of Christ to raise the dead, both the saved and the lost, and to establish His glorious kingdom. The lost will be separated from God's presence forever, but the righteous, in glorious bodies, will live and reign with Him forever. When Jesus Christ returns in glory to fulfill His Father's plan, He will complete the judgment and redemption of the world and bring His people into perfect fellowship with God ---Father, Son and Holy Spirit--- forever.                                                                                              Our Statement of Faith is based on a nondenominational protestant, Bible-based views.     *************                                                            Requirements:                                                                        Chi Alpha was founded as a mom’s support group with a few members, but has grown to be so much more than that. Chi Alpha is still a mom’s centered, family integrated group of like-minded families. We require that each family submit a signed membership form each year stating that their family’s views align with the statement of faith. If there is an unbelieving member of the household, we would not want to exclude them in any way during their children’s functions within Chi Alpha, but we ask that they do not lead the group in any activities and that they also acknowledge our statement of faith and act respectfully and accordingly at all Chi Alpha functions . Also, only members that are willing to sign the statement of faith may be added to the Chi Alpha Facebook page. Moms and Dads are both welcome on the page if they’d like to sign the statement of faith. We do not want to exclude the hands-on fathers that are taking an active role in leadership within their homes. We do have some events, socials, and mom’s meetings just for fellowship with other moms.                   Chi Alpha does not recognize the following religions as Christian religions, and we do not believe that they align with our beliefs and statement of faith:                    Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Mormonism or Latter Day Saints, Jehovah Witness, Unitarian Universalist, Christian Science, Church of Scientology.                                  We require members to abide by the State of Georgia's Home Education Laws and the Georgia State Compulsory Attendance Law (applies to families homeschooling children who are between six and 16 years of age.) We require that you have read, understand and agree with Chi Alpha's Statement of Faith. We also require that your family’s values align with the Statement of Faith. Chi Alpha is dependent on the participation of its members. We ask that when joining our group you would become a vital member who is willing to plan and participate in events that will enrich our homeschooling journey. As a member of Chi Alpha we ask that you and your family will try to apply Ephesians 4:29 as we journey with our fellow homeschool families, so that we will be a light and encouragement to others. *

The Chi Alpha Facebook page is our main form of communication and is a place for like-minded individuals to come together and support each other as well as plan events, field trips, etc.  By requesting to be added you are agreeing that the Chi Alpha Statement of Faith aligns with your beliefs.   *
Chi Alpha is a volunteer-led group.  We need all of our members to volunteer in some way.  There are many ways that you can serve.  As part of your Chi Alpha membership, please mark at least one of the following that you agree to help with: *
Required
We like to have fun events for the Chi Alpha kids throughout the year.  As previously mentioned, this group exists and functions because of volunteers.  It's much easier for moms to hold events when they have an idea of how many people to expect.  Please be sure to mark GOING, MAYBE, OR NOT GOING on Facebook event invites as soon as you are able to respond. That will be a huge help to whoever is volunteering to hold an event for our group.  Do you agree to try your best to do this? *

I hereby grant Chi Alpha Homeschool Group permission to use the likeness of our family members in a photograph, video, or other digital media in any and all of its publications, including web-based publications, without payment or other consideration. *
