Dean’s Representative. The dean’s representative is the fourth member of any NSSR dissertation committee. The faculty chosen to serve as this fourth reader must come from outside the student's discipline. The dean’s representative may not make detailed comments on the dissertation, although that would be welcomed when appropriate. The Dean's Office can assign a dean's representative if a student does not yet have a fourth member of their committee and requires assistance. We can take several factors into consideration, including your preference, which you can state below.
Dean's Representative assignments can take up to two or three weeks for processing. If your exam has not yet been scheduled, please do not make any arrangements until the Dean's Representative has been assigned. Contact Ellen Freeberg at
