Retro Vibes Summer Camp - Striving to emulate a week in a lakeside bunkhouse, but in downtown Raleigh, this camp combines a modern spin on classic craft shack projects (elevated macaroni art, embroidered badge-making) with all-American nostalgia: think team-building games, theme days, a tie-dye bar, relays, and general “scoutcore.”

Landscape Painting Intensive - The beauty of the natural world provides endless inspiration for painters. If you are inspired by nature and want to hone your painting skills, join us for an immersive week of landscape painting. We will build on techniques in acrylic and watercolor to fully express dynamic terrain. A strong focus will be on color theory and you’ll develop your skills in mixing and applying colors to create mood, atmosphere and a sense of harmony.

Urban Sketching/Travel Journaling - This camp is designed for students who get excited about going to new places and want to learn how to document their experiences in creative ways. Throughout the week we’ll go on walking field trips to local spots for sketch sessions exploring mediums such as gouache, watercolor, pen and ink and collage in a travel journal. Students will finish the week with an illustrated journal and an array of writing and art techniques that will help them capture future adventures.

Sewing & Fiber Arts - Dive into the colorful world of fiber arts this summer! This crafty camp is perfect for students who love to experiment with fabric and thread. Throughout the week we’ll learn how to stitch cute stuffies, dye fabric with batik techniques, and sew personalized pillows. This camp will give students the tools and inspiration to bring fiber arts projects to life.

Printmaking: Graphic Design & Pop Art - There are so many fun ways to make art prints and a plethora of surfaces to print on. Throughout this camp we’ll explore a multitude of printmaking techniques like monoprinting, collagraph printing, rubbings, stencils, and blockprinting. We’ll draw inspiration from popular culture and learn about the many ways that prints are integrated in our day to day world!

Zine Makers Camp - Students interested in writing, art, and design will love the infinite possibilities for creative expression of zines – mini, self-published magazines. Throughout the week, learn from examples and pull from an ephemera collection to practice principles of graphic design, illustration, collage, and hand-lettering, all building to the completion of your own themed zine.

Wild & Whimsical Color Lovers Camp - Join us for projects inspired by the quirky collages of Henri Matisse, psychedelic floral patterns of the 1960s and 70s, and the bold lettering of today’s graphic artists. We will learn about color theory, principles of design, and explore various media such as - embroidery, paper-cutting, watercolor, and acrylics.

Folk Arts Camp - Our most popular camp in 2024, we’ll bring back crowd favorites like embroidery and beading, and introduce new projects from around the world such as mosaic memory pots, mini sculptures, textile design, and other eclectic decor and wearable art pieces.

Painting BIG: Mural Camp - Explore the impact of large scale art! Through this camp students will work as a team to create a mural that reflects their unique vision while learning techniques including color theory, composition and collaborative art making. Get hands-on experience creating public art and transforming a space with art.
