Welcome SDA Family and Visitors. North Bronx SDA Children's Ministries are excited to invite the children to a bi-weekly writers workshop on Sundays at noon (12:00pm EST - 1:30 pm EST) Facilitated by North Bronx Education Department. Children will explore, discuss, and apply biblical principles, as it aligns with relative scripture, surrounding topics in personal development, social conflicts, goal-setting, family, health, peace, and so much more enriching sessions. The writing activities will engage students in expository writing, narrative, poetry, and letter writing. We expect children to have fun in a safe space where they can confidently learn and express their understanding of biblical concepts in a creative way.


Topics/Skill Focus

1. Planting Seeds for Personal Growth/ Understanding Symbols
2. Healthy vs. Toxic Love/ Understanding Personification and Letter Writing
3. Coping with Rejection/ Understanding Poetry
4. What is Purposeful Living/ Understanding Storytelling
5. Finding Your Gifts and Using Your Talents/ Understanding Mindfulness Practices
6. Discovering Your Identity - Seeing Yourself the Way God View You / Establishing SMART goals

Workshop Learning Goals

* Guide children to think critically about the biblical lessons in scripture readings
* Facilitate reflective discussions to inspire creative writing
*  Make connections between scripture and practical life experiences
