BKS Volunteer Interest Form
Any swim team needs volunteers to be successful and Burke Station is no exception.  It takes a lot of volunteers from both teams to run a successful dual meet.

Please fill out this form to give us an idea of where you may be interested in volunteering.  These answers will not tie you to a particular role.

We will let everyone know how many slots over the course of the season will be required per family at the Parent Meeting in May. 

Please have each adult member of a family fill this form out.  We know some may have a preference for the type of position that differs from their spouse/partner.

Are you interested in being an on-deck official?
 *
On-deck officials are critical to a swim meet and are required for a swim meet to proceed.  Training is required for these positions.  For complete descriptions, please check here.
Are you interested in working in Concessions?
 *
For every home meet, we must provide concessions.  This takes many volunteers.  Please read the various positions that need to be filled here.
Are you interested in being a table worker?

Click here for a description of table worker positions.  at home meets, the table is set up down on deck except during Divisionals.  At Away meets, it will depend on the individual pools.
Are you interested in being a timer or marshal?
 *
Timers time the swimmers. Responsibilities include: verifying names of each swimmer in the lane; start watch at visual starting signal; stop watch when any part of swimmers touches wall; write times on time card OR displays time on timer board. (Required at ALL Home and Away Meets).
Marshals wear cool reflective vest and are responsible for maintaining order/ensuring safety in the pool area. These volunteers are placed around the pool deck to ensure that swimmers remain in their team areas, spectators remain in the spectator area, and has the authority to removed individuals from the swimming venue behaving in an unsafe or unsportsmanlike manner. (Required for ALL Home and Away Meets)
