Audition Sign-Ups - New Works Festival
The New Works Festival is a first-of-its-kind event for KWLT! It is run by the New Works Collective who are a group of playwrights that meet monthly to work on their scripts. This is an opportunity for 10 of those playwrights to have their work staged and see what is working and what isn't. There are 14 pieces in the festival, ranging from ~1-6 actors. There is a wide diversity of roles, so we are certain there will be a role that fits your demographics and skill level!

If you have a prepared monologue, please bring it to perform for your audition. If you do not have a prepared monologue, we will have sides available from the festival shows available in the waiting area. If you'll be reading from one of our sides for your audition, please arrive early to ensure you have time to choose one.

Important Dates:
Tech Week: August 1822
Performances: August 23–25, 2024
Each show will only be performed once and each performance will be a different collection of plays. So, it's okay if you can't attend every performance.

E.g. acting training, voice training, etc.

This can be on- or off-stage.  If you have extensive experience, pick 3-5 shows to highlight: best, favourite, more recent, however you want to choose them.  Please provide the name of the production, your role(s) in it, the year, and the name of the production company.
Which of these are you NOT comfortable with? (Select all that apply.)

Leave blank if this doesn't apply to you.
Are you willing to be cast in more than one role? (There are 14 short shows in the festival. Some directors are directing more than one piece and might want to cast the same actors in each show, for example.)
Whether or not you are cast in the show, are you also interested in helping the festival in another way? How so? (ex. Front of House, marketing, fundraising, lighting/sound op, ASM, etc.)

Leave blank if this doesn't apply to you.
A copy of your responses will be emailed to the address you provided.
