Dear Advisees,  

The History Department is creating a 45 hour (one credit)  internship for our History-BSEd students in the fall semester. The aim of this internship would be to support middle and high school students with the research and development of their National History Day projects. You would a) gain classroom experience, b) work one-on-one and in teams with students, c) have the opportunity to expand your network, and d) become more familiar with the teaching profession and the NHD curriculum.

The assignments for this internship would include writing a weekly log about the work you've done, reading a min of 2 articles, and writing a 10 page reflection paper. We would provide you with a workshop prior to the beginning of your internship. During the internship, you would be responsible for helping students develop their research skills, find primary and secondary sources, structure their papers, and providing them with thoughtful feedback on their progress.
