Application Deadline: September 30, 2017
Offering a limited number of event scholarships to southern California students, the Children's Literature Council Gala Scholarship is dedicated to supporting those who are working to understand, celebrate, and connect children's and young adult literature with readers of all ages. Recipients of the scholarship will be invited to attend the Fall Gala on October 28, 2017 (9am-noon) at the Skirball Cultural Center, featuring keynote speaker, Steve Sheinkin, the award-winning author of fast-paced, cinematic nonfiction histories for young readers.
To be eligible for the Gala Scholarship, students must have recently completed and/or be enrolled in a course or program that is focused on library science, teacher preparation, children's literature, or writing creatively for children and/or teens. Recipients of the scholarship will receive complimentary registration to the Fall Gala, which includes breakfast. Recipients are responsible for their own travel to and from the event.
