We are a collective movement of Madison parents advocating for children to learn to use technology in a mindful and deliberate way. Our mission is to delay unfettered access to the internet and social media amongst Madison children. We support a play-based childhood that fosters healthy social and emotional development.
We look to achieve this by promoting:
Delayed access to social media
Delayed unfettered access to the internet
Delayed access to fully-loaded smartphones
“Bell to bell phone away” policies (phone away for the day schools)
Intentional use of technology in Madison Public Schools- kids on screens to enrich their learning
Promote learning and interacting without screens during the school day
We plan to partner with local schools to create safe digital spaces to promote social and emotional well-being in our children. We seek to collaborate with and support local schools in fostering critical digital literacy in an ever-evolving landscape.
