Any course seeking general education designation must provide the following information and rationale for consideration. The request form, course syllabus, and
course schedule must be emailed to the Director of General Education.

Utah Tech's GE program aligns with the Essential Learning Outcomes outlined in the Appendix of USHE policy R470.
Explain how the course addresses each outcome, and indicate the level of proficiency that should be attained by the completion of the course.
I =Introduce Learning outcome is introduced at the basic level.
D = Develop Students are given opportunities to practice, learn more about and
receive feedback to develop more sophistication in the outcome.
M=Mastery Students demonstrate mastery at a level appropriate for graduation.
Courses are not expected to meet all three levels of proficiency in order to attain GE status.
