Medway High School is expanding real-world learning opportunities for our students. We are hosting two events this school year designed to provide students with insights into various careers by connecting them with
industry professionals to hear from those with first-hand experiences. We’re delighted to welcome industry professionals to share their career journeys, experiences, and insights with our students. These events give high school students the valuable opportunity to explore diverse career paths, ask questions, and learn what skills and education are needed to succeed in today’s workforce. These events also provide a beneficial opportunity for professionals and employers to connect with our future workforce!
We are hosting our inaugural Career Day on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, from 8 am to 11:30 am. This day will be formatted into four 35-minute sessions in a classroom setting where our guest speakers will provide each group of students with a 15-20 minute summary of their current job and their career path to get there leaving time for Q&A! We hope our presenters can open our students' eyes to different careers including what a day in the life of a certain profession is like, the highlights of the job, and the hiring requirements.
Our annual
STEM Fair is scheduled for Wednesday January 28, 2026 from 8 am to 11:30 am. This is a "Show and Tell" type event where professionals in STEM-connected roles visit the high school classrooms to highlight an exciting aspect of their career. In the past, the most well-received sessions have been interactive - demos, hands-on activities, labs, etc. We have seen everything from robotic arms to DNA sequencing to service animals. Our theme this year is "
From medicine to music - technology makes it happen!" Realizing technology is a critical piece of almost every profession in today's digital world, we encourage all industries to think about how STEM is a part of your career and how that can be shared with our students.
Your voluntary participation in one, or both, of these events helps inspire the next generation to dream big and make informed choices about their futures by drawing on the real-world experiences and expertise of people like you! Feel free to come in pairs or teams! Please complete and submit this form by Saturday November 1st if you are interested in presenting or know someone who would like to participate. If you have any questions, please email Carly Brousseau at cbrousseau@medwayschools.org. Together, we can make these two events meaningful and memorable experiences! Thank you for your consideration!
