THANK YOU for signing up to volunteer with the nonprofit Livable City for the inaugural Juneteenth SF Parade on Market St taking place June 10th, 2023! You're joining a team of over 100 volunteers who will make sure everyone stays safe and organized during the parade and help San Francisco celebrate Juneteenth like it's never done before.
Juneteenth SF Parade volunteer requirements:
- All volunteer roles require several hours of standing and walking
- All volunteers must complete a 1.5 hour in-person training prior to event-day
- All volunteers are expected to stay the full hours of their shift - please only select a shift you can arrive at the start time and stay for all hours.
Juneteenth SF Parade volunteer roles & shift times:
- Staging Captains - 7:00am - 11:00am (Civic Center) Setup the staging area, greet and direct parade contingents to their staging zone, assist with parade deployment
- Breakdown Captains - 9:00am - 1:00pm (Civic Center) Maintain a clean and organized staging area and lead breakdown once the parade clears the staging zone
- Wheel Captains - 10:00am - 2:00pm (Parade Route) Monitor float and vehicle wheels to ensure attendees, participants and volunteers stay clear of them
- Pacing Captains - 10:00am - 2:00pm (Parade Route) Pace parade contingents to ensure gaps are closed and troops know when its best to pause for performances
