The ‘Youth in Evaluation manifesto’ is part of a movement to encourage the engagement of young and emerging evaluators in evaluation. This engagement will bring energy, innovation, technical expertise and greater diversity into evaluation systems across the world. To facilitate the implementation of the Youth in Evaluation manifesto, Eval4Action initiated the co-creation of standards to enhance engagement of youth in evaluation. Six intergenerational and multi-stakeholder task forces, with a combined membership of 60 people and organizations have developed standards for enhancing meaningful youth engagement in evaluation.
The standards will serve as a roadmap on how the manifesto commitments can be implemented by improving accountability and practice on engaging youth in evaluation. The standards were launched at the Youth in Evaluation week (24-28 April 2023) and target six stakeholder groups: academia, governments, international organizations, the private sector, VOPEs, and youth organizations.
Interested organizations are invited to use the standards in their organization/network to advance meaningful engagement of youth in evaluation, and to conduct an annual self-assessment. Organizations are encouraged to share their self-assessment with the Eval4Action campaign (contact@eval4action.org) to cross fertilize lessons and to be considered for the selection of ‘Youth in Evaluation champion’ in 2024.
Organizations/networks are requested to fill this form to express their interest in using the standards.
