2SLGBTQIA+ Intergenerational Mutual Aid Storytelling
How has the queer community shown up for you? How have you shown up for others? How have queer and trans people cared for each other throughout our community history?

Join the ISGH 2SLGBTQIA+ Intergenerational Mingle and the We Help Us hotline for an afternoon of intergenerational storytelling, community, mutual aid, and oral history, where we will explore how and why members of our communities have taken care of one another over the years when institutions have failed to do so.

This event will feature an intergenerational panel of queer and trans storytellers sharing their experiences of mutual aid, followed by breakout discussions among participants, a mutual aid activity with the Aliveness Project, and free food and drink. Participants will also have a chance to document their stories of queer and trans mutual aid for the We Help Us project, which will be archived at the Jean-Nickolaus Tretter Collection, the largest archival repository of LGBTQ history in the Midwest. This event is free and open to the public!
