TC-568 UHF FRS/GMRS
A superior and low cost rugged and durable UHF alternative to popular 'bubble-pack' radios because of some enhanced features. These are programmable so the user can use their own private channel, and comm's can even be encrypted using the scramble function. This unit is a good choice for use by a ski partner, tailgunner, or another group operating near you that you need to keep in touch with. Transmit range can be substantially enhanced with the addition of optional after market antennas such as the 1/4 Wave UHF duck, or the telescoping tri-band 270A antenna. Price includes FRS and 2 GMRS channels pre-programmed, with privacy on GMRS 1.

Smiley Base Connectors
Smiley has developed a base system that ensures any of their flexible antennas will simply screw into several antenna bases to fit Motorola, Tempo, Standard, Wilson, RCA, Repco, GE and all other transceivers using BNC, TNC, MX, SMA, or PL-259 connectors. This can be very handy if you change radios from a model that used an SMA-F base (EG Baofeng), but want to keep your antennas and use them on your new radio that needs an antenna with an SMA-M base (EG: TYT). These only work on compatible Smiley antennas. For more information see our base connector page: https://goo.gl/7gavYo

Microphone Jacket
The microphone can be purchased with an optional ripstop nylon cover (colors are black, green, or orange), for an additional $11.91 USD. This specialist cover was designed by Jordy Shepherd of Peak Alpine, in collaboration with Zac's Tracs. It's purpose is to increase water resistance by keeping snow out of the recesses, which also means it will repel water, coffee, frost, condensation, mud, dust, and dirt as well as mitigate wind noise. It works by garroting a shock cord drawstring around the front of the Mic, which is then held closed by a round spring loaded cordloc. (Shipped in random colors of green, orange, or black unless otherwise specified).

Acoustic Earpiece
Listen only model. 3.5mm connector. Plugs into the speaker mic for monitoring audio in noisy environments, while wearing helmet, or for privacy. Note: with this style of earpiece, the hollow acoustic tube requires regular cleaning by soaking the tube in warm soapy water, and then blowing out with compressed air every couple of weeks. Note that condensation adversely affects performance and audio levels, so when operating in field environments that promote condensation in the feeder tube, the tube may have to be purged from time to time.
