IB students register and take IB exams in grades 11 and 12.  WCPS has agreed to pay the registration fees for each exam.   IB Diploma Program students are expected to complete six IB subject group courses, a Theory of Knowledge course, an extended essay, and a CAS Portfolio.  Each IB course requires students to complete an internal assessment and two or three external assessments.  If a student fails to complete one assessment component either an internal or external assessment, he/she will receive a failing score from IBO and will be expected to reimburse WCPS the exam costs WCPS invested, including students who qualify for fee waivers. *

NEXT STEPS:                                                                            After submitting this Application of Interest, the next step is to participate in the IBDP interview process.  IBDP Interviews will be conducted in the North High Media Center.  A sign up link to select a date and time for your interview will be sent under separate cover to any PARENT email address that was provided in this form above.  After interviews, the IB team will make its final recommendation and you will receive an email with a placement decision prior to March 1.  If you are recommended for placement and do not currently attend a Washington County Public School, you will need to enroll into North Hagerstown High School.  The enrollment process will not begin until after the July 4th holiday.  You may contact the Mrs. Grove in the guidance center at 301-766-8243 after the July 4th holiday (as long as schools are open) to arrange an enrollment meeting.  There will be no enrollment appointments for incoming IBDP students prior to July 8, 2023. *
Everyone (applicant and parent) listed in the text box below has read and understands this statement.
