GRP’s Summer Camp centers Women, Trans* and gender variant people. We are committed to trans inclusion and gender self determination. We use the term “trans” in its most inclusive sense, as an umbrella term encompassing: transsexual, transgender, genderqueer, Two-Spirit people, and more generally, anyone whose gender identity or gender expression is non-conforming and/or different from their gender assigned at birth.

There are all kinds of support we need to make rock camp happen. You do not need music experience to participate in Summer Rock Camp. While most roles are reserved for women, trans and gender non-conforming peoples, there are some roles that are open to folks of all genders.

It is important to note that some of our volunteers in supportive roles (kitchen, childcare and roadie crew) identify as cisgender men. If this affects your capacity to participate at Rock Camp, please share with us us any concerns you may have so we can support you.

**FOR NEW AND RETURNING VOLUNTEERS:

Placement of our volunteers into roles is a gigantic puzzle that takes many different factors into account. We are an organization that is committed to uplifting the leadership of people with marginalized identities through intergenerational learning, and we thank you for your understanding and patience with our process. We invite feedback and dialogue about camp roles and volunteer placement.

No matter who you are- whether you're a brand new or returning volunteer- we invite you to fill out this application thoughtfully, and to challenge yourself to move up new skills. This year at camp, we may ask you to step into a new role- either out front, or behind the scenes. We know this may be a different role than you're used to; that said, the space of newness and growth is precisely where the magic happens!

**Applications are due on Monday, June 17th. You will be notified of your camp role and schedule by Monday, June 24th at the latest! Thanks for your patience!

Would a small stipend make it possible for you to volunteer at Summer Rock Camp?
We believe in the power and process of volunteerism, and we recognize that it can be prohibitive to marginalized and historically oppressed groups not to receive pay. In our work to honor the labor and spirit that our volunteers share with us, Girls Rock Philly is excited to announce that we will be offering stipends this year in order to make volunteering as accessible as possible. **Deadline to request a stipend is Monday, June 17th.
Are you interested in childcare options?
We are able to arrange childcare for children of volunteers UPON REQUEST!!. Please list the names and ages of your children and fill out this childcare form by Monday, June 24th: https://bit.ly/2VMth27

We will send clear instructions on HOW to obtain these clearances in a few weeks. In the meantime, we want to be transparent about this anticipated cost and recognize that it can be prohibitive to some volunteers.
