Reading Hockey Club Young Leaders Course Application Form 2025
Use this from to register your interest in attending the Young Leaders Course on 25 to 27 August: Times are:
Monday 25 August 10.30am - 5pm
Tuesday  26 August 9am - 5pm
Wednesday 27 August 9am - 4.30pm

Venue: Reading Hockey Club, Sonning Lane, RG4 6ST
The Young Leader Courses are open Reading Hockey Club members and non-members. Minimum age 13.

To achieve the Young Leader Award the participant must attend all sessions of the course and are required to complete the England Hockey on-line modules for both In2Hockey and Quicksticks prior to attending the course. Details of how to access these will be provided.
The course is based on the England Hockey Award and covers:
General principles of leadership
Delivering hockey
Umpiring
Organising a hockey festival
Managing hockey
How hockey is structured and governed

We have a limited number of places for this course and reserve the right to refuse to accept an application. You will be notified of your place and course fee of £195 (to include YL red polo shirt) requested. Payment request will be via Pitchero

You will receive an email before the course with more details of the itinerary and what to bring with you.  You will also be given details of which England Hockey on-line modules to take. You will need to retain the on-line module certificates of completion to show the course tutor at the start of the course.

Please supply a packed lunch each day, snacks and a drink for your child.

Please bring your hockey kit including gum-shield and shin pads. If you do not have a stick, we will provide one (disinfected) for you from our stock of spare sticks.

By providing contact information, persons named herein agree to receiving relevant communications from Reading Hockey Club. We destroy data associated with that person attending our Young Leaders courses when they reach an age in excess of that offered by our Young Leaders courses with the exception of financial transactions which must be retained for a period of not less that 6 years.  We do not share this data with any third party organisations without express permission being sought.

Reading Hockey Club reserves the right to postpone or cancel the course due to unforeseen circumstances or if insufficient bookings are taken. We will refund any payments in these circumstances. The courses are most effective with 12 to 16 participants.
