Each 13.1® event offers Elite runners a total prize money purse of $3,500 distributed as:
Overall Male: 1st - $1,000; 2nd - $500, 3rd - $250
Overall Female: 1st - $1,000; 2nd - $500, 3rd - $250
Half Marathon Elite Standards: Male - sub 1:12 ; Female - sub 1:22
American Record: $50,000
World Record: $100,000
13.1® National Championship on March 4, 2012 in Miami Beach offers total prize money of $29,200 distributed as:
Overall Male: 1st - $13,100; 2nd - $1,000, 3rd - $500
Overall Female: 1st - $13,100; 2nd - $1,000, 3rd - $500
National Championship Prize Money Qualification Standards:
In order to be eligible to win the championship prize money runners must qualify. Qualification can be accomplished several ways:
Winning a 13.1® Series event during the 2011 rotation (including the 2012 13.1® Los Angeles)
Completing a 13.1® Series event during the 2011 rotation (including the 2012 13.1® Los Angeles) with a time under 1:12:00 for the men and under 1:22:00 for the women.
Completing a non 13.1® Series half marathon event with a time under 1:05 for the men and under 1:10 for the women.
