Assemblymember Gabriel’s internship is an engaging experience for students aspiring to careers in public service, politics, community organizing, and government. All interns will have the opportunity to become well-versed in the ins-and-outs of State government.
District and Capitol office interns will: • Conduct legislative research • Plan and attend community events • Learn the role of a field representative • Engage in constituent outreach • Help constituents navigate state resources • Support communications strategy
Ideal candidates will have: • Strong oral and written communication skills • Excellent telephone and in-person etiquette • A team-player mindset • A proclivity for punctuality • A reliable mode of transportation
The District and Sacramento offices are also seeking interns who will specialize in communications work.
Communications interns should: • Be skilled in photography, videography, and/or graphic design • Be willing to support the Communications Director in outreach and external strategy
The District and Sacramento offices will sign off on community service hours or academic credit.
