The Xerces Society has a new Pollinator Habitat Program serving historically marginalized urban agriculture growers in the Detroit and Metro Detroit area. If you have a "shovel ready" site where you are interested in creating or expanding native plant habitat for pollinators and beneficial insects on your urban farm, this could be a good project for you!
The Xerces Society is offering free habitat kits that contain native milkweed and pollinator-friendly wildflowers, grasses, and shrubs to Detroit urban farmers and community partners who are willing to provide the land, time, and labor to develop and manage a habitat project.
The window for submitting Project Proposals for the 2025 Detroit Pollinator Habitat Kit Program will open on February 7th and close on March 20th. Please complete this brief interest form to be notified of the proposal release and to receive habitat kit program updates. By providing your email, you agree to be reminded of these dates and to receive pollinator habitat kit program updates, or other Xerces news and events for Metro Detroit and the Great Lakes region.
