Bed Race Registration Form

The Bed Races are intended to be fun, festive, and community oriented. Teams are encouraged to decorate beds and dress in any theme appropriate for family audiences. The information in this notice is an abbreviated version of the full Bed Race rules document and subject to change before the event date. Please check blairstownbec.com for details and updated information.

Racing Teams must consist of 5 members: 4 pushers and 1 rider. All team members must be at least 18 years of age or have written, signed parental/guardian consent and a hold harmless waiver. Racers must attend a pre-race meeting the day of the event, where they will sign the participation waiver, walk the course and review rules. Racing is at your own risk, but we encourage the use of closed toe shoes, helmets and knee pads. No safety equipment will be provided by the race organizers. Racing Teams will race against the clock on a closed course one at a time. Fastest time wins! The rider must be sitting or lying the entire race. No standing or kneeling. 

Races will be held in two heats. Depending on the number of entrants, teams may be allowed to run in each heat with their best time used. Trophies will be given for the fastest beds in addition to other fun spirited categories. The parade division will include awards for “Best in Show.” All judges' decisions are final. Teams may be disqualified if they are not racing in a safe manner or posing a danger to spectators. Sportsmanship and cooperation is encouraged among teams.

Off-site parking will be provided for participants at the Presbyterian Church on Main Street or behind Alpine Meat Packing. No refunds will be given for Bed Race teams that do not participate. Payment from Race Teams not accepted will be returned immediately. Payment from those on  the waitlist will be returned the day after the event if they are not selected or not able to participate.  The Blairstown Fall Festival will be advertised in local newspapers, signs, social media, email lists, the BEC website and other venues as appropriate. We ask that you help promote the event though any means possible.

On the date of the event, October 18, 2025, for the purpose of the BEC Blairstown Fall Festival, the undersigned  agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Blairstown Enhancement Committee (BEC), its officials, agents and employees and/or volunteer workers from any and all injuries, damages, liability, claims, costs, and attorney fees arising out of the use of said premises or property referenced including any losses or damages arising from the acts or omissions of any family member, agent, artisan, guest, participant, servant, or other person attending or working the event herein referred to. 

This agreement shall remain in full force and effect for any continued, additional or postponed date of event  indicated. The Blairstown Enhancement Committee (BEC) reserves the right to cancel or interrupt the event  if the representations set forth herein and on application, or guidelines for use of said property are not adhered to or the town determines that a situation that might lead to personal injury, property damage or violation of law exists.

PHOTO RELEASE
I hereby grant the Blairstown Enhancement Committee permission to use my likeness in a photograph, video,
or other digital media (“photo”) in any and all of its publications, including web-based publications, without
payment or other consideration.
I understand and agree that all photos will become the property of the Blairstown Enhancement Committee
and will not be returned.
I hereby irrevocably authorize the Blairstown Enhancement Committee to edit, alter, copy, exhibit, publish, or
distribute these photos for any lawful purpose. In addition, I waive any right to inspect or approve the finished
product wherein my likeness appears. Additionally, I waive any right to royalties or other compensation
arising or related to the use of the photo.
I hereby hold harmless, release, and forever discharge the Blairstown Enhancement Committee from all
claims, demands, and causes of action which I, my heirs, representatives, executors, administrators, or any
other persons acting on my behalf or on behalf of my estate have or may have by reason of this authorization.
I HAVE READ AND UNDERSTAND THE ABOVE PHOTO RELEASE. I AFFIRM THAT I
AM AT LEAST 18 YEARS OF AGE, OR, IF I AM UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE, I HAVE
OBTAINED THE REQUIRED CONSENT OF MY PARENTS/GUARDIANS AS EVIDENCED
BY THEIR SIGNATURES BELOW.
