Take This Volunteer Form
Thank you for your interest in helping Take This run their AFK Program!  Our AFK Program generally consists of two locations-- the AFK room, where volunteers check in with every guest who comes in and offers an empathetic ear, and the Hope Booth where volunteers share information about Take This and take donations

Reminder:  Signing up to volunteer, even if you have volunteered with us in the past, does not guarantee you a volunteer position at the convention.

A NOTE ON MASKING:  As of August 2026, we are no longer requiring volunteers to mask.  We will be setting up designated masking tables in the AFK room, and any volunteer who approaches attendees at that table will put a mask on before doing so.  That being said, any volunteer who wants to mask while on shift is welcome to do so.

Many attendees have come to rely on the AFK Room as parts of their experience at major cons. The AFK Room helps people keep or regain their sense of calm during this long, busy weekend.

We rely on our volunteers to make the AFK Program happen! In exchange for your volunteer time, you are guaranteed a pass on the days you are scheduled. To be eligible to volunteer you must have eligibility on 3 days of a four day event, and two days of a three day event.  Volunteers are required to work two shifts.


This form should only take you a few minutes. The information we gather here is not shared with third-party vendors. We hate spam as much as you do.
