Investigating the relationship between the University of Glasgow and the surrounding urban area, with a focus on how the University expansion will affect this relationship.
Hello,

My name is Rowan Sinclair and I am a fourth year undergraduate student of Geography at the University of Glasgow. For my dissertation I am conducting research into the political and economic aspects of university and city relations, as I would like to assess the relationship between the University of Glasgow and development in the West End. The focal topic of my investigation into this relationship will be the proposed expansion of the University and what impacts this will have on the interactions between the University and the surrounding urban area. The services that are being provided, local business owners and local residents are the type of areas that I am interested in researching.

I have created a quick and simple questionnaire as the starting point of my research, which aims to gather general information on the opinions the residents and business owners in the West End have about the plans for the University expansion. If you could spare 5 minutes to answer my survey I would really appreciate it!

I have also been carrying out interviews with local councillors and university staff and would encourage any local residents or business owners who wish to express their thoughts on the expansion to contact me through Facebook or at
