EVA Survey-1: Reasons for not maintaining FG Stocks

Dear friend,

Please accept my warm Greetings!

I write this email to you on behalf of the Endurance Vendor Association (EVA).

Endurance has raised an important concern in the last Meeting with the Endurance Vendor Association that some Vendors are not maintaining the Stock Inventory of FG items at each location resulting in delays in supply or non-adherence to the DI/ Daily Requirement.

This causes line-stoppages, non-completion of schedules in time, further resulting in Premium Freights and often loss of Sales.

Endurance has given us a list of 47 Suppliers that do not maintain FG Inventory inspite of repeated requests raised by Endurance.

EVA, therefore, has been asked to intervene. We have decided on three course Action Plan:

1. To find the most common reasons why FG Inventory is not maintained

2. Highlight the issues to Endurance Work and work with them to resolve issues they need to address

3. Support and enthuse Vendor Members to meet with the FG Stock requirements of the Endurance

Since your Company name is in the list of Vendors not maintaining FG Inventory, we share with you a list of probable reasons for non-maintenance of FG Inventory.

FG Inventory at each location

Do not Receive Schedule from Plants in time

Less Confidence in Schedule as Plants do not inward as per Confirmed Schedule. So FG Stocks are wasted/ damaged resulting in losses

Inwarding is delayed, E-Way Bills expire. FG inventory has to be often re-called

Schedules of some components are erratic/ not regular. So FG stock cannot be defined

No idea about how much FG to be maintained

Cost of FG Stock/ inventory very high

Maintaining FG Stock has resulted in losses in the past when components are deleted

We supply directly from our main unit to Endurance as we do not have local Warehouse or Godown arrangement at each location for maintaining FG Stock and local invoicing

Production and supply is hand-to-mouth. So no capacity to maintain FG inventory

Maintaining FG inventory requires additional Packaging/ Storage/ Handling Costs. So unable to follow

Production Capacity is less or not aligned to meet with ETL Schedule + FG Stock Requirement

Lack of system to monitor Schedule Vs Supply and FG Stocks inventory

We are not aware about how to maintain FG Stock inventory and need Training
