Research for Indigenous Community Health (RICH) invites all tribal leaders, healthcare professionals, community leaders and students to submit research abstracts concerning Indigenous approaches to FoodMedicine, community and health interventions and research that have established and/or are reclaiming original foods and medicine into indigenous communities.
In particular, we will support sharing successful practices for preventing chronic disease and promoting wellbeing. For example, we hope to highlight grassroots initiatives (e.g., garden programs, traditional Indigenous farming, subsistence practices, etc.), clinical diabetes prevention programs focused on the Indigenous community, and innovative research projects working with tribal communities and their relationships to FoodMedicine.
Abstracts will be considered through a peer–review process for presentation at the 2015 RICH health summit. Authors from past conferences have assisted in an exchange of information critical to the global understanding of food, traditional medicine and health as they affect Indigenous/American Indian populations.
-- All abstracts must be submitted online.
-- When you fill out the form, please follow the instructions carefully and check for accuracy.
-- Time allocation for breakout sessions is 50 minutes.
-- Indicate if your presentation preference is poster presentation or workshop/breakout session.
-- Presenters will be contacted by the Abstract Review Committee with a decision.
