Registration Deadline: Friday, August 4th
Check-in and weigh-in will take place from 7:00 - 9:00. Livestock show will begin at 10:00 with showmanship, followed by market classes and breeding classes. Species order Swine, Lamb, Goat, Dairy & Beef Cattle.
Please note: If an exhibitor has multiple animals of the same species, we cannot guarantee that they will be in separate classes. Should an exhibitor have multiple animals in the same class, they may need to make arrangements with another exhibitor to show that animal in their place.
Confirmation Classes (in show order)
Junior Ram Lambs (Rams born after January 1, 2023)
Senior Rams Lambs (Rams born September 1 - December 31, 2022)
Yearling Rams (Rams should be at least one year of age, but have not reached 2 years of age by show date)
Junior Ewe Lambs (Ewes born after January 1, 2023)
Yearling Ewe (Ewes should be at least one year of age, but have not reached 2 years of age by show date)
Breeders Flock (5 entries, at least 1 Ram)
Grand Champion & Reserve Purebred Lamb
Best of Botetourt Purebred Lamb (exhibitors from Botetourt County only)
Rules
1.
Purebred sheep in the purebred sheep show may NOT be entered in the market lamb or commercial sheep shows.
2.
Fitting is not required.
3.
Registration papers must be available for all animals entered in breed shows. If no registration paper is available, the animal will be placed in the commercial show.
4.
Senior lambs must be born September 1 to December 31, 2022.
5.
Junior lambs must be born after January 1, 2023.
6.
Sheep must have scrapie tags in their ears.
7.
All exhibitors are limited to 2 entries per class.
8.
Entry fees of $10.00/hd should be mailed to Botetourt County Fair Inc, 1465 Lakeridge Circle, Troutville VA 24175 by August 4, 2023.
